Description
I named this piece Ægir’s Tide because ocean jasper felt like the sea itself, and Ægir is the Norse god of the ocean. The swirling greens and creams in the stone move the way deep water does, unpredictable and alive. Adding sunstone, mookaite, and aqua jasper beads felt right too, because Ægir’s realm was never just dark and cold. His hall beneath the waves was said to glow with gold light, and those warmer tones in the beads carry that.
I crafted this handmade, one-of-a-kind wire-wrapped pendant in New Zealand. Like all natural gemstones, the ocean jasper in this piece carries its own markings and character. Also, no two will ever be the same.
Stone: Ocean Jasper
Wire: Oxidised Copper
