Description
Named after the Völva, the Norse seers who read the hidden threads of fate, this pendant felt like it needed to be something that looked like it was already keeping secrets. Silver Sheen Obsidian does exactly that. The silver flash sitting inside all that darkness is a perfect match for a seer who worked between worlds, finding light where others only saw shadow.
Stone: Silver Sheen Obsidian
Wire: Oxidised copper
About Silver Sheen Obsidian
- Formed when volcanic lava cools so rapidly it becomes natural glass, which is why obsidian has always been associated with sharp, cutting clarity.
- The silver sheen comes from microscopic gas bubbles trapped inside the stone as it solidified, so the flash you see is literally light caught in darkness.
- Long used as a scrying and protective stone, it is said to reflect back what you most need to see, which is not always comfortable, but always useful.
