Description
Hrimfaxi is the horse who pulls the chariot of night across the sky in Norse mythology, and as he travels, frost falls from his bit onto the earth below. Howlite has that same quiet, cold energy to it. The white stone with its grey veining looks exactly like something the night itself would leave behind.
Stone: Howlite
Wire: Black plated Copper
About Howlite
- Howlite is naturally white with dark grey veining that forms in patterns resembling frost or cracked ice.
- It is a soft, matte stone with no shine to it, which gives it a stiller, more subdued presence than most white stones.
- Howlite is found primarily in Canada and was only identified as a mineral in the 1860s, making it one of the more recently discovered gemstones.
