Description
Stjörnu Nótt means “starry night” in Old Norse, and this piece is named exactly for what Lapis Lazuli looks like: a deep blue sky scattered with gold. The stone didn’t need much interpretation. It already looked like the night sky the Norse would have navigated by.
Stone: Lapis Lazuli
Wire: Oxidised copper
About Lapis Lazuli
- One of the oldest gemstones used by humans, prized for thousands of years across many cultures for its vivid, unchanging blue.
- The golden flecks are pyrite inclusions, which is why it so naturally resembles a star-scattered sky.
- It has long been associated with truth, wisdom, and the heavens.
