Description

Named after Jörmungandr, the World Serpent who coils around the ocean floor holding the whole world together, these earrings pair two blue stones that feel like they were made for him. Lapis Lazuli carries the depth and darkness of the deep sea, while Blue Apatite has that electric teal quality of shallower water where light still reaches. Together they move through the same colour story he does, from the cold dark at the bottom to the surface where he meets the sky.

Stones: Blue Apatite and Lapis Lazuli beads

Wire: Oxidised copper

About Lapis Lazuli

  • One of the oldest stones used in jewellery, worn by ancient Egyptian pharaohs and ground into pigment for Renaissance paintings.
  • The gold flecks are natural Pyrite inclusions, which is why it has always been associated with the night sky.
  • Traditionally connected to truth and clear thinking, particularly in situations where you need to say something difficult.

About Blue Apatite

  • A relatively rare gemstone despite the name being familiar, most Apatite is too soft or cloudy to cut well.
  • The blue variety gets its vivid teal colour from trace amounts of iron and manganese.
  • Associated with focus and cutting through confusion, which pairs well with Lapis

Note: The earring hooks are made from tarnish-resistant silver-plated copper. Nickel and alloy-free.
